Man United are preparing an €85m offer for Douglas Costa, as per sources in Italy.
After having fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich, the Brazilian secured a loan move to Juventus last summer, and he has regained his old form back since.
The forward managed to bag 6 goals and 14 assists over the course of the campaign, helping the Turin-based giants retain the Serie A title in the process.
However, his performances haven’t been enough to warrant him a permanent switch to the Old Lady, as Juve are more focused on using their limited budget to recruit a central midfielder in this transfer window instead of strengthening an already effective attack.

As per the pre-agreed loan deal, Juventus could wrap up the permanent transfer of Costa for a discounted fee of £35m. But while they remain interested in sealing this transfer, they aren’t fully prepared to go through with it just yet.
And now, according to multiple Italian sources, Manchester United are prepared to take advantage of this situation by swiftly swooping in for the 27-year-old.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport has claimed that the Red Devils are prepared to make an €85m (£75m) bid for the Brazil international.
Jose Mourinho has numerous talented forwards at his disposal, but his star-studded roster continues to lack an out-and-out winger, especially on the right wing – a problem that can be expertly solved by Costa.
The Mancunians have been linked with other wingers like Chelsea’s Willian and Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic in recent weeks, but the Juventus star currently appears to be their best shot at bringing in a proper wide-man.
Could Costa, along with his fellow compatriot and Juve teammate Alex Sandro, arrive at the Theatre of Dreams this summer?
