Alexis Sanchez enjoyed a long vacation this summer, and showed signs of brilliance in Manchester United‘s ICC opener against AC Milan.

The Red Devils are in the middle of a striker crisis at this moment. They are set to be without the likes of Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku for the start of the season due to the duo’s long involvement at the World Cup in Russia.

Anthony Martial has failed to impress Jose Mourinho, and having already left the pre-season tour, he is now also likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

This means Alexis Sanchez is the only striker option Mourinho has for the season opener against Leicester City on 10th August. But Manchester United fans are pretty excited to see him lead the line next season.

The Chilean International is well rested, as he wasn’t involved in any summer competition for the first time in five years.

Alexis joined the Manchester United pre-season squad late, as he faced visa issue due to his tax fraud case. But the forward was on fire when he made his appearance against AC Milan in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday.

Sanchez was excellent, as he scored the opener for the Red in a game that finished 1-1. United won the game on a 13-round penalty shootout that ended 9-8 in their favour. The 29-year old made all the headlines post full-time.

The lack of pre-season saw Alexis Sanchez endure a pretty rusty start at Arsenal. This time around, the Chilean has got ample rest to cool down from last season, and has enough time to make a connection with his teammates.

It will be interesting to see if he can help Mancunian giants win major titles in the season to come.
