Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the gift that just keeps giving and the legend who just keeps scoring. Generally, a shift to the USA by any European legend is viewed as the end of phenomenal careers, and spectators are often lucky if they get to see a slight hint of the maestros they were prior.

However, in the case of the outstanding Swede, conventions don’t apply, and if anything, they seem eager to be defied.

On Sunday, the former Manchester United, PSG, and Barcelona striker scored his first hattrick for LA Galaxy against Orlando City, and in incredible fashion.

The final scoreline stood 4-3, with Ibrahimovic’s goals proving to be the decisive difference between the sides. Each of his three goals gave Galaxy the crucial positions they badly required, the first two being equalizers and the final being the winner.

The first header in the 47th minute set the tone for the game, while the diving header that arrived in the 67th minute gave his side some hope. A mere four minutes later, a superbly shot goal found the back of the net, and LA Galaxy had three points to their name.

His celebration after the goal was one to take note of, as the 36-year-old was clearly conscious of his immense achievement and celebrated as such.

The victory led LA Galaxy to the third place in the Western table, with Ibrahimovic finding 15 goals in just 17 appearances for the side. The hattrick was also his first in over a year.

This was certainly why the American side invested in him in the first place, and it goes on to show just how much brilliance the Swede has left in him.

Is this indication of greater things to come from him, and should others who have plans of following a similar career path take note?
