Manchester United Identify Spanish Midfielder As Their Next Marquee Signing
Manchester United had a disappointing summer transfer window in 2018, and manager Jose Mourinho is already identifying targets to bolster the squad in the upcoming windows.
Reports have come in that the Mancunian club is preparing a staggering £134 million bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
With Paul Pogba’s future hanging in the balance, United want a proven star, and Saul has justified his tag over the last couple of seasons for Atletico and national team Spain as well.
The Premier League giants have long been linked with a move for Saul, and they first scouted him when he was on loan at Rayo Vallecano in 2014.

But back then, the midfielder agreed to join Atletico and stay in Spain to foster his growth. Under Diego Simeone’s management, the player has gone on to become a star asset for the side.
United aren’t the only suitors for Saul, however, and they will have to battle biggies like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Real Madrid to land the 23-year-old.

In fact, there have been a reports from Spanish outlet Ok Diario which suggest that the Spaniard could be at the centre of a four-way battle next summer.
The Mancunians are ready to pay his £134 million release clause, but ut it remains to be seen whether Atletico will allow the midfielder to leave.
Simeone values him highly, and wouldn’t want him to depart so soon. It will be an interesting summer ahead for both United and Atletico as far the battle for Saul is concerned.
