How Cristiano Ronaldo Reacted After Scoring Against His Former Side

Juventus players will be in disbelief at how their most recent Champions League encounter ended up.

The Italian giants suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United, as Turin witnessed yet another great showing from the English giants.

A late free-kick goal from Juan Mata and an own-goal from Alex Sandro off an Ashley Young’s free-kick sealed the fate of the Old Lady.

Their short-lived lead in the second-half was a result of a scintillating goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. The goal was the first Champions League goal that the Portuguese superstar has scored for Juve, and the manner in which he celebrated has led to quite a few murmurs.

Following the goal, which was the sort of shot that only the likes of Ronaldo could have perfectly executed, the former Manchester United forward raced off and displayed his abs in a jubilant celebration.

A bit of a spectacle even for Ronaldo, and somewhat of a shocker, as many were predicting that if he did score, he wouldn’t celebrate given his history with United. It seems that Ronaldo realized this as well, for no sooner had he celebrated, his hands shot up in the air in apology towards the away fans.

Further, it seems unlikely that United fans will give him a hard time about the celebration, particularly given the circumstances. This goal was a long time coming, and delayed by the 33-year-old being handed a red card against Valencia.

Everyone is all too aware of how much Ronaldo likes scoring in the Champions League, and the fact that he apologized immediately ought to siphon away any bad blood.

Of course, the former Real Madrid man won’t be too happy with how the fixture turned out eventually either, but the fact of the matter remains that Juventus have all but secured qualification to the next round anyway, and this loss was an unexpected and unfortunate blunder on their part.
