Manchester United are packed in midfield, and that means that certain players have been preferred less than the others. One such case is with young Brazilian Andreas Pereira.
The versatile midfielder was loaned out to Sevilla last season, and he dictated the proceedings there. The 22-year-old was kept in the squad this term by former manager Jose Mourinho, but Pereira found matches hard to come by, having featured just six times under the Portuguese.
With Jose being sacked by United, Pereira will be wanting to give it all under new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The club legend came in and stated that he expects everyone to start with a clean slate, while also suggesting that players will be given chances to express themselves. Pereira, whose contract ends post this season, is believed to be considering his future.
According to reports, the midfielder wants to see how things go at Old Trafford, whilst keeping his options open. His last appearance which came in the 5-1 win against Cardiff as a substitute, was his seventh of the season.
The report adds that the midfielder will decide his future ‘in the coming days’ after weighing all options. He is also expected to speak to Solskjaer and the rest of United’s coaching staff, and then make a decision.
It is understood that the player is keen to join Arsenal. The Brazilian could be tempted by the value of the London club, and the chance of working with Unai Emery could be another reason.
