What Lingard Did Outside Of The Emirates Stadium After Arsenal vs United
Manchester United bagged a sensational 3-1 win over Arsenal on Friday night, as goals from Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, and Anthony Martial knocked the Gunners out of the FA Cup.
The Chilean scored against his former club on his first return to the Emirates, whilst Lukaku bagged two brilliant assists from his unexpected left-winger position.
Despite these facts, however, the man who managed to attract a majority of hatred from the London giants’ fan-base was none other than Jesse Lingard.
It wasn’t the goal that the Englishman scored, but the celebration that followed which infuriated the Arsenal supporters. The 26-year-old performed the ‘moonwalk’, inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic dance step, right in front of the home crowd.
To rub salt in the wounds, the Manchester United academy graduate posted a picture of himself celebrating on Instagram, wherein the Emirates was tagged as ‘Dancefloor’ – a move of sheer disrespect, which the Red Devils’ fans absolutely loved.
And as if that wasn’t enough, a new video has now emerged, which shows Lingard performing the same move even outside the Emirates, as he was about to board the team coach.
His manager, however, was only concerned with his antics on the pitch. In fact, Solskjaer reserved special praise for Lingard in his post-match press conference, as he stated:
“Jesse’s a big game-player. He’s shown that for England, for us. He always pops up with goals, was it last year counter-attack goal against Arsenal?
“So Jesse is someone we never, never hesitate to put in a Man United team and he’s been brought through this system, he knows what this means, he knows the club, he knows this history, he knows all the counter-attacking goals we’ve scored against Arsenal. He knows everything about the club and he’s someone we’ll look after.”
