Why Manchester United Have Given Up Their Pursuit Of Ivan Rakitic
Manchester United have cooled their interest in Ivan Rakitic.
The Premier League giants were said to be pursuing the Barcelona superstar, so as to bring him in as a potential replacement in case of Paul Pogba’s departure.
The star Frenchman was heavily unsettled at the Old Trafford club, especially due to his infamous rift with former manager Jose Mourinho.
However, the 25-year-old’s fortunes have changed drastically since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Pogba is now the team talisman, and has enjoyed stunning form, having bagged nine goals in 16 appearances under the Norwegian.

The revival in the World Cup winner’s form and morale has led Manchester United to believe that their record signing will continue to stay put at the Theatre of Dreams.
This development, in return, has also convinced the Mancunian giants to cool off their pursuit of Ivan Rakitic, according to the Evening Standard.

Paul’s brother, Mathias Pogba, had previously confirmed that the only reason the ex-Juventus star was considering an Old Trafford exit was due to the problems he had been enduring with and because of Mourinho.
But with those issues resolved, and the player happy and performing once again, speculation regarding his future at Manchester United has disappeared for good, at least for the next summer or two.
