Manchester United are ready to make a move for Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

The Red Devils seem to have begun their hunt for centre-backs already, as evident from their recent links with the likes of Raphael Varane, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Toby Alderweireld.

With the current crop of central defenders just not good enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, summer reinforcements are not just expected, but very much a priority.

Now, another player seems to have landed on Manchester United‘s radar, in the form of Kostas Manolas.

After having spent five impressive seasons with Roma, Manolas is now eager to embark on a journey elsewhere, and the Mancunians are very keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

The need for a new adventure also seems to stem from the fact that I Giallorossi may finish outside the top four in the Serie A, which will keep them out of the Champions League next season.

According to the Rome edition of Leggo, Manchester United are eager to take advantage of this very fact, and activate the £31 million release clause in the 27-year-old’s current contract.

If they do succeed in this pursuit, the Greece international could prove to be a sensational signing for the English giants, considering his enormous talent, age, and the transfer fee involved.
