Paul Pogba’s talks with Real Madrid over a potential summer move have hit a roadblock.

Zinedine Zidane is set to spend big in the upcoming summer transfer window to improve the overall quality of his squad, and numerous superstars have already been linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard is expected to be the first arrival at the Spanish capital club. Reports indicate that Real Madrid have reached a €100m agreement with Chelsea for the Belgian, and the signing is likely to be announced after the Europa League final.

Now, the Galacticos have turned their attention towards yet another Premier League superstar, in the form of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Having initially experienced an improvement in his form after the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pogba’s struggles and troubles seemingly returned during the final stretch of the season, once again sparking rumours of a summer exit.

Further, the France international himself created enormous speculation, when he admitted that he dreams of playing for Real Madrid, especially under the management of Zinedine Zidane.

However, his dream move appears to have hit a major roadblock, as Los Blancos are supposedly unwilling to meet the 2018 World Cup winner’s high salary demands.

Manchester United Want Adrien Rabiot To Replace Paul Pogba

According to L’Equipe, the 26-year-old has demanded a deal worth €15m-a-year (£13m-a-year), which does not fit into Real Madrid‘s complex wage structure.

Further, an inside source has claimed that Real have no intention of making Pogba their highest paid player, having stated: “A Neymar or an [Kylian] Mbappe can upon entry be the highest paid player in the squad, but not a Pogba.”

Does this mean curtains to the Frenchman’s blockbuster transfer to Spain?
