Cristiano Ronaldo wants Jose Mourinho to become the next Juventus manager.

Last week, the Old Lady outfit confirmed that Massimiliano Allegri will be departing from the club at the end of the season.

A host of managers have since been linked with the newly-crowned Serie A champions, including the likes of Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino, and Maurizio Sarri, to name a few.

However, team talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has backed his former boss and fellow compatriot Jose Mourinho to take over the Juventus hotseat.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Marca), Cristiano as well as his agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Mourinho, have backed the Special One’s candidacy for the coveted managerial post.

In fact, Mourinho himself had all but confirmed this report during an appearance on beIN Sport in early March, when he shed light on a conversation he had with a player he shares a “great relation with”.

The Portuguese tactician had stated: “One of the players that I have a great relation with, he plays for a team and he told me, ‘You should come here next season’, and I told him, ‘They don’t love me’. He told me, ‘You win three matches and they will start loving you’.

“This is just… we are professionals and we have respect for each other, even when we have bad reactions on the pitch, in the press conference, a player be more aggressive with another one. It’s people from the same industry and in the end people respect each other.”

Mourinho’s comments about ‘them not loving him’ certainly apply to the Juventus supporters, who passionately hate Jose for the enormous success he achieved at Inter. Could he end up at the Old Lady despite that?
