De Ligt Hints At A Man United Move Through His Instagram Activity
Following his performances for Ajax throughout the 2018-19 season, Matthijs De Ligt is now the most sought-after central defender in world football.
While a host of European juggernauts have expressed huge interest in his services, Barcelona seem to be the favourites to seal this transfer.
The Catalan giants had submitted a big offer for the 19-year-old back in April itself, but that has now been deemed as far too low by the player’s representative: the notorious super agent, Mino Raiola.
However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, the Catalan giants are hesitant to up their initial bid, which has effectively brought other suitors into the fray.
Manchester United, in particular, are believed to be one of the frontrunners in this pursuit, as they are willing to offer the young Ajax captain weekly wages worth £236,000 a week, which would amount up to €14 million a year.

And as if this huge deal wasn’t a big enough source for speculation, De Ligt himself has now got the rumour-mill spinning through his social media activity.
Eagle-eyed Manchester United supporters have seen the Dutchman ‘like’ the social media posts of several individuals associated with the Old Trafford club, with many considering these actions to be signs of his imminent switch to the Mancunian outfit.
Not only did De Ligt ‘like’ Rio Ferdinand’s Instagram post about United’s 2008 Champions League win, but also the photo uploaded by Romelu Lukaku on the same platform.

Further, he also followed Paul Pogba’s official Insta handle, thereby leading some fans to believe their ‘Agent P’ had once again begun working on making another sensational transfer happen.
