De Ligt Urged To Join Man City By Two Former Ajax Managers
Two former Ajax managers have urged Matthijs De Ligt to join Manchester City.
Speculation surrounding the future of De Ligt has dominated the transfer window so far, with a host of European juggernauts said to be interested in securing his services.
Barcelona have been dubbed as the frontrunners in this race, although Manchester United have recently emerged as strong contenders as well.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding the 19-year-old centre-back’s future, some valuable advice has come his way from two former Ajax managers, viz. Louis van Gaal and Peter Bosz.

Speaking to FOX Sports, Bosz opined: “I think De Ligt fits perfectly with Manchester City. Vincent Kompany is already gone and Nicolas Otamendi is not good enough. Then I would love to see him next to Aymeric Laporte.”
Van Gaal, in total agreement, added: “I think exactly the same. Although De Ligt can go to Barcelona too, because I don’t like their central defenders either.
“He could play at Barcelona, but he could play for Manchester City also, and in that case I would choose Pep Guardiola over Lionel Messi.”
With both managers endorsing a move to the blue half of Manchester, could the Etihad be the next destination for the teenage sensation?
