Manchester United Make £70m Bid For Harry Maguire
Manchester United have overtaken Manchester City in the race to sign Harry Maguire.
The Cityzens were said to be the frontrunners in this transfer pursuit, as they look to sign the England international as a readymade replacement for Vincent Kompany.
Further, this move was also dependent on Nicolas Otamendi, who was initially expected to join Atletico Madrid. However, the Argentinian will be reconsidering his decision following the departure of Kompany.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have continued to track Maguire, and now, they have upped their offer for his services.

According to Sky Sports, United have tabled an improved bid worth £70m for the Leicester City star, thereby overtaking their inter-city rivals in this transfer race.
The report states that the 26-year-old Maguire has no intention of forcing a move away from the King Power outfit, but he is open to the idea of joining a club from the Premier League top six.

The Foxes also retain their stance of having no compulsion to part ways with their prized centre-back, as they demand an offer in excess of the £75m world-record fee that Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.
Moreover, they hope that a bidding war between the two Mancunian giants will help them get the record-breaking sum they desire.
Meanwhile, Maguire is yet to return to Leicester City’s pre-season training camp, and it remains to be seen whether he joins up with his fellow teammates on Sunday, when they head to the French Alps for six days of training.
