Man Utd Target Bruno Fernandes Confident ‘Transfer Will Happen’

Manchester United’s transfer affairs are certainly proving to be a roller-coaster ride. Having entered the window with a clearly unrealistic view of the kind of players they could pursue, United in the past weeks seemed to have finally come to terms with their capacity for purchases.

While the Daniel James transfer didn’t turn all too many heads, it was the deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka that is repeatedly being touted as a watershed moment this window.

The club was expected to make a series of transfers following that, with particular significance being placed on wrapping deals before going for their pre-season tour.

However, that hasn’t happened yet and most of their ongoing transfer sagas lack active news.

Despite that, Correio da Manha (via Sports Witness) is keeping the Bruno Fernandes saga alive with their latest claim. It is believed that the player is ‘calm’ about the whole situation and that he is confident that a transfer will occur soon.

While Manchester United were the biggest name linked with the Portuguese midfielder and Man City made a cameo appearance in the saga, the report in question names only United and Tottenham Hotspurs as the interested parties.

Apparently, the player’s agent Miguel Pinho is traveling repeatedly to London, with speculations spinning his travels to be in order to facilitate the best offer for his client. Both Premier League clubs are believed to be ‘formulating a proposal’ for a deal.

It seems that certain clauses within the player’s contract at Sporting may be hindering the interested parties from making an official bid.

It is indeed a surprise that the Fernandes saga is taking this long, which indicates that past reports may have overstated the progress made by the interested clubs.

The player is a source of immense creativity and it is certain that whichever club emerges with his signature will have acquired a promising talent.
