Manchester United and Leicester City have reached an agreement over Harry Maguire’s transfer fee.

The Red Devils have been in pursuit of the England international for quite some time now. And after seeing their previous bids rejects, they have finally coughed up the required transfer fee for the defender.

According to Bleacher Report, both clubs have agreed on a record-breaking sum of £80 million for the centre-back’s services.

And in the process, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. have also beaten their inter-city rivals Manchester City in this transfer race.

The Cityzens were heavily interested in Maguire as well, but were waiting to offload Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi in order to generate funds for the Leicester City star’s signing.

However, the delay in their business has worked well in United’s favour, who have swooped in and closed this deal for good.

Further, a new update provided by The Sun indicates that Maguire has been quite eager to complete his switch to Old Trafford, as he aims to emulate his idols Steve Bruce, Nemanja Vidic, and Rio Ferdinand at the Theatre of Dreams.

Moreover, the 26-year-old also hopes to earn the captain’s armband at Manchester United one day, and effectively write his name down in the club’s glorious history books.
