Manchester United have made progress in their talks to sign Nicolas Pepe.
The £70m-rated forward scored 22 goals for Lille in the Ligue 1 last season, with his performances attracting interest from several European juggernauts.
Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have lodged offers for the 24-year-old already, and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be eyeing his signature.
Now, as per The Times, Manchester United have also made progress in their discussions with Lille over the player’s services.
The Red Devils have been monitoring the Ivory Coast international for quite some time, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now decided to make a move for the winger.
Lille are said to be eager to sell their prized asset to the highest bidder as well, but Pepe himself is yet to give an indication regarding where he wants to play next season.
Manchester United are prepared to offload Romelu Lukaku for around £75m this summer, and they intend to use those funds to close the deal for Pepe.
Apart from the Lille star, the Mancunians also remain in pursuit of Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes, as Solskjaer looks to bolster his squad’s attacking power for the season to come.
