Manchester United were able to win against Leicester City on Saturday, putting to an end a run of poor performances. Marcus Rashford’s penalty goal secured them all three points as the Foxes were handed their first Premier League loss of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be extremely pleased at this result, particularly since the gaffer went into the game with many of his key players like Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial out injured.
However, United held their cool quite well and often put up the attractive display of football that has evaded them since the brilliant win against Chelsea on opening day.
Pogba’s absence, in particular, was neutralized by the outstanding ethos with which Scott McTominay manned the midfield.
The academy graduate is slowly growing into United’s best midfielder and fans have lauded praise upon him for the display he put up against the Foxes.

A wins a win but that performance illustrated just how limited & threadbare Utd really are. On the plus side, McTominay was superb, hopefully that penalty restores Rashfords confidence & a clean sheet is always nice. Utd can not let January go by without bringing in quality.

Only youngster Ole really used is McTominay, a player mourinho brought up to the first team. Hope this helps.

It is evident that the player is no longer a short form wonder and is slowly realizing his role. Despite being placed alongside Matic on Saturday, McTominay succeeded in putting up a balanced defensive front as well as maintaining attacking stability, indicative of his capabilities.
The fans love him and now it is up to Solskjaer to ensure that the youngster continues to develop steadily and become an exceptional midfielder.
