United are planning a double swoop for Leicester City duo James Maddison and Ben Chilwell.

Looking at their performances so far this season, it is quite evident that the Mancunian giants still have a long way to go to rebuild their squad and compete for silverware.

In their hopes of getting there, the Red Devils have identified two more targets that will not only improve their team, but also fit their new transfer policy of recruiting young and domestic talents.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are intent on stepping up their pursuit of £130m-rated Foxes duo James Maddison and Ben Chilwell.

As per the report, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wishes to bring in five new players in the January transfer window, with Maddison and Chilwell being two of them.

The Norwegian was highly impressed with their performance during United’s 1-0 win over Leicester in the Premier League. Thereafter, he also sent scouts to watch the two players in action when the King Power outfit hosted Liverpool last week.

Further, an inside source from the club has shed more light on the news, having told The Sun: “We have already compiled a scouting report of both of them. We have been watching them for a few years now.

“They fit all the right requirements and criteria in terms of quality and keeping an English core which is important. Ole likes them, but it would be difficult to get them both at the same time. We will have to wait and see what happens.”
