Twitter Reacts To Andreas Pereira’s Dreadful Performance vs Bournemouth
Manchester United had the rain and wind to witness their shame as they lost 1-0 away to AFC Bournemouth, bringing to an end their recent spell of good form across all competitions.
The home side secured victory in the first half itself as Joshua King’s impeccable goal canceled out United’s dominant possession. The game ought to have been capitalized by the traveling side in the opening minutes but missed chance after missed chance plagued them and once Eddie Howe’s team took charge in the second-half, all effort was simply too little too late.
Now, fans have targeted one Red Devil in particular for the awful defeat.
Andreas Pereira has come under harsh criticism for an awful performance during the game. Functioning in the crucial no.10 spot, there were rarely any moments of creativity from the Brazilian. Worse still, he ought to have scored early on itself and did have a great opportunity in the second-half, but both were squandered in the end.
Twitter was ruthless in their appraisal of the midfielder, with many eager for Paul Pogba to return in order to inject some real intent into that position for the Red Devils. Further, Pereira was awful even on set-piece duty, wasting the potential that Harry Maguire could have executed from the corners. What made matters worse still was that his best possible replacement in the spot was Jesse Lingard, another academy graduate who simply hasn’t been having the best of days as a United player.

#MUFC’s central creative position has come down to a choice between Pereira or Lingard. pic.twitter.com/M2fYXUytNk

Andreas Pereira hasn’t even outdone Tom Cleverley’s legacy at utd

Not convinced Pereira is Brazilian.
Or a professional footballer.

Andreas Pereira is playing as a number 10 today, he has been on set piece duty too and guess what? He has been terrible at both

People wanted Jose gone once because he loaned out this Pereira?

basically: United need a no. 10. or Pogba back. however you want to look at it. Pereira killed SO MANY United attacks today it was obscene.

This also highlights the need for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company to go shopping for a creative attacking midfielder in the upcoming winter transfer window. The brilliant crosses from Daniel James were fed in vain to Pereira while Scott McTominay’s midfield dominance was in naught due to a lack of an apt outlet to feed to ball into the front.
The game could have been a drastically different one if the Mancunian outfit had an apt replacement in store.
