Daniel James Was ‘Unbelievable’ And ‘Chased Every Ball’ In The Manchester Derby

Manchester United’s recent 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad held a hamper full of massive positives.

The Red Devils were electric throughout the fixture and the fact that the win came at the back of another victorious one against Tottenham Hotspur just days prior further added to the joy.

Now, it is vital for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take stock of all the positives and churn them together for future fixtures as well.

In particular, the Norwegian gaffer ought to avoid the kind of embarrassing and unexpected losses from a winning position that plagued them for much of the last few months.

Commenting about one such positive, Manchester United goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel was all praise for Daniel James’ performance during the derby, stating (Premier League Productions): “He was unbelievable, chasing every ball, he was in every counter-attack and, at the same time, he was doubling up with (Aaron) Wan-Bissaka on the right-hand side. Ryan Giggs must be so happy to see one of his players perform so well.”

Many fans are already comparing the youngster to his compatriot manager who was the gem of Old Trafford’s wings during the glory days. The sheer potential this Welshman holds makes it an all-too-achievable reality I’m the future.

He went on to add: “He’s played every single game this season and he’s still playing well. That’s a fantastic signing.”

There is no denying the sheer electric intent that James’ pace brings to United’s attack. At the beginning of the season that flurry of form was also accompanied by goals, a trend that has halted as of recent.

However, there is no denying that this wasn’t expected of the relatively unknown signing from Swansea City and that too not from the top flight of English football.
