It’s been a while since a deal linking Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United remained up in the air with some disagreements concerning the concerned fee.
Nevertheless, progress and breakthrough have been made this week by the English club and the midfielder is just a few inches away from becoming a regular part of Old Trafford.
Recently, the Sporting asset have claimed that his interest in the Red Giants budded the moment he started watching Cristiano Ronaldo display his skills for United back in the past.
The Portuguese revealed (via club’s official website): “My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club.
“For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies.
“I want to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me. It is surreal to hear the nice words that have been said about me from players that used to play for this team.
“A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can’t wait to start to repay that on the pitch.”
Sporting Lisbon has let go of the talented midfielder despite his talents in order to relieve themselves from a financial crisis. And that seems to have benefited Solskjaer, as the Norwegian has been looking for players to fill the holes in the midfield.
As of today reports have confirmed that the Portuguese has become a United player, being their first signing of the winter window, who will cost an initial €55million (£46.5m), plus €10m in achievable add-ons.
With Fernandes being set to follow the paths of his idol Ronaldo, supporters now look forward to see the Portugal international in action wearing the Red kit.
