What Man Utd Fans Are Saying About Eric Bailly’s Performance vs Chelsea
Man Utd have secured their tenth league win of the season, as their clash with Chelsea which featured a great deal of involvement from VAR ended 2-0 in their favour.
A few United faces impressed the manager last night, although it seems like Eric Bailly has bagged the most praises from Solskjær following the remarkable performance he displayed against the Blues.
Replacing Victor Lindelof, the Cote d’Ivoire international made his first appearance in almost a year last night. And no player on the pitch won more defensive aerials (4) or made more blocks (3) than the 25-year-old.
Keeping the Chelsea strikers in check, the talented defender was classy, proving to be one of the best defenders Solskjaer could opt to deploy in the defensive line in the upcoming matches.

The supporters were driven absolutely crazy when the United star produced an insane tackle to deny Cezar Azpilicueta a one-on-one shot against David De Gea in the first half. He was also responsible for stopping Kovacic in the 72nd minute when the Chelsea attacker got in a dangerous position inside the box, which resulted in a corner thanks to his reflexes.
Consequently, highlighting his qualities, the club manager praised the centre-back following the terrific match. Solskjaer branded him the title ‘Brave as a Lion’ and went on to declare that his performance was ‘absolutely fantastic’. Moreover, the Norwegian coach seemed to have been really impressed by the tackle Bailly pulled off to stop Kovacic, as he hailed that one as ‘out of this world defending’.
Adding more spice to his performance, the supporters have flooded Twitter with reactions, with plenty of them wishing for the United defender to stay fit for a while.
What a performance that was from Eric Bailly. Nearly 10 months without a competitive game and does that. Going to be hard for Lindelof to get back in.

Eric Bailly apparently way better than Maguire yet Maguire always seemed composed. Bailly has great highs but big lows too – man put our defence under pressure a few times.
Maguire is better, but Bailly is a great partner for him imo.

When Eric Bailly is fully fit and has cool head, he is one of the best centre-backs in the World

Eric Bailly is wild. Everything he does seems like the worst possible idea at the time and then he makes it work.
