Bruno Fernandes has been a dream acquisition for Man Utd so far. Much ado was raised when the club kept dilly-dallying on whether or not to sign him over the course of two entire transfer windows.

However, all that fuss and uncertainty now seems to be worth it given just how good the Portuguese midfielder has been for the Red Devils. During the 3-0 win over Watford, he clearly made Old Trafford fall in love with him.

His contribution during the fixture was an echelon of footballing brilliance, having both won and scored the opening penalty as well as directly assisting Mason Greenwood’s winner.

His contributions were a class above the rest and that made the Man of the Match award a foregone conclusion.

In fact, this was Fernandes’ third consecutive Man of the Match honor, having secured it in all three of his Premier League starts so far.

The 0-0 draw to Wolverhampton Wanderers was certainly a mute affair but the fresh signing from Portugal made an instant impact back then. During the historic 2-0 win against Chelsea, Fernandes created Harry Maguire’s headed goal through his corner kick and that brilliance continued and was furthered during this fixture.

With such a short time on the pitch, the 25-year-old has already led United fans to start dreaming, with some of his numbers already eclipsing the more mediocre figures of the past.

Speaking after the game, Fernandes was clear in his intent as a Red Devil, stating: “This is what I want to do and what I need to do. Everyone knows we want to get into the Champions League places. I am here to help the team conquer this place and keep winning games.”

With Man Utd currently poised in the 5th place that looks likely to be the Champions League spot due to the Man City ban, that certainly seems likely.
