It goes without saying that Bruno Fernandes has been impeccable for Manchester United since signing from Sporting.

Three Premier League Man of the Match awards in three games, numbers that have already overtaken Jesse Lingard’s and a winning mentality that is frankly infectious, the Portuguese midfielder is a Red Devil through and through.

It is exhilarating to see what Fernandes is able to add to a team that has often lacked creative prowess and midfield intelligence in this campaign.

Speaking to the press ahead of the Europa League second-leg clash against FC Brugge, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was all praise for his latest acquisition, stating (via club’s official website): “His [Bruno Fernandes] imagination and his over view, picture, is a couple of seconds ahead of many players. It is one of his strengths he knows what he wants to do. He can change his mind in a split-second. That composure has been important.”

The Norwegian gaffer goes on to add: “I think Bruno will only improve by coming here to a stronger league, stronger opponents and stronger teammates, getting used to us. We want to develop that x-factor. He’s come in and impressed everyone but we don’t want to put a limit on what he can do.”

It has certainly appeared that it is the 25-year-old’s teammates who are making the most out of him, with the likes of Anthony Martial already looking to strike a winning partnership given the kind of dynamics they’ve enjoyed in February.

It is vital to remember that Fernandes is merely a single singing and he alone won’t solve all of United’s woes.

However, he was also the club’s most pressing requirement going into the winter window and that brings them a step closer to ensuring that the brilliance of the glory days can be regained, a small step at a time.
