Odion Ighalo arrived alongside Bruno Fernandes during the winter on loan and has been performing more or less akin to the creative midfielder.

The Nigerian has displayed great form consistently in front of goal and has established decent relationships with his teammates as Juan Mata recently confessed how contented he is to play alongside the veteran attacker.

It is understood that Shanghai Shenhua secured the talisman for £5.27m when he left the second-tier Chinese side CC Yatai in February last year.

However, the Nigerian’s recent performances at Old Trafford were noticed by his original club, and accordingly, they demand a higher fee if United wishes to keep him at the end of the season.

Man United Confident They Will Sign Jadon Sancho If They Qualify For Champions League

According to the Mirror, the Chinese Super League side will demand £15 million for sealing a permanent deal which would enable Solskjaer to exploit the talented striker in the upcoming seasons.

Ighalo has registered four goals up his name for the English side in three starts against Club Brugge, Derby County and LASK. The talented attacker’s efficacy thus has established a high degree of chance that the club manager would contemplate on the option to buy him at the end of the season.

How Anthony Martial Reacted To Odion Ighalo’s Wonder Goal

Hinting the likelihood of a permanent deal, Solskjaer had proclaimed: “Odion has done really well since he came in and he is enjoying himself.

“He will improve and get better, but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities next season, so let’s see what we will do.”

Regardless, with his market value standing around £5.85m, Shanghai Shenhua are demanding three times the same. Hence, it’s also reasonable that the English side may negotiate with Ighalo’s former club before going on with the deal.
