Following his arrival back in January, Odion Ighalo has been performing well for Manchester United, showcasing a decent form in front of goal.

The Nigerian has registered four goals for the Red Devils in three starts against Brugge, Derby County and LASK. Moreover, the star has established strong relationships with his new teammates alongside Bruno Fernandes in such a short period of time.

Ever since the departure of Romelu Lukaku, the Mancunians were on the lookout for suitable competition for Anthony Martial. Although the 30-year-old attacker was brought in during the winter for filling the hole temporarily, his performances have caught the attention of the United officials who are now looking forward to securing a permanent deal for the talisman.

The veteran attacker formerly operated for Shanghai Shenhua, a Chinese Super League side who swooped him from a second-tier Chinese club CC Yatai in February last year.

The Chinese club has noticed the rise in the form of the talented striker and is hence demanding a much higher fee if United wish to secure his services for the upcoming seasons as well.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropping hints indicating that the deal might actualise by the end of this term, Odion Ighalo is reportedly prepared to take a 50 per cent pay cut to stay in England.

According to the Sun, the Nigerian is happy with taking a £6 million pay cut in the hopes of operating for the Red Devils in the following years.

He purportedly earns £240,000 a week with Chinese Super League outfit. Regardless, the attacker understands he won’t receive anywhere close to that figure at Old Trafford.
