Manchester United prior to the lockdown were looking like one of the best teams in the Premier League. The raw statistics did back their form up and the addition of Bruno Fernandes, in particular, appeared to have an immensely positive catalyzing influence on the Red Devils.

While most players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s roster saw a great improvement, Paul Pogba was yet to have his impact this campaign, being robbed of most of it due to injuries.
As such, Fernandes and Pogba have not shared a pitch together.

However, the Portuguese midfielder is very confident that Pogba will return to a starkly better team, stating on the club’s website: “He started training with us in the week before we stopped, so I think when he comes back he will start to play, and be in the team.”

Fans will be looking forward to this pairing given the sheer skillset that they possess.

However, while Fernandes is confident of this prospect, there is still some doubt about the Frenchman’s future with the Real Madrid exit still thought to be on the cards.

He goes on to add: “More than expectations, I’m confident what Paul can give to us, to the team. I think he has a lot to give, he has a lot of quality, and I think with the positive energy in the club – because we won a lot of games and we are in a good moment – everyone, the supporters and everything, will be more patient with Paul maybe.”

Fernandes then states what the former Juventus player will be greeted with upon returning: “The confidence now in the team is bigger. So I think Paul, when he comes back, he will feel this and will give more for the next months and the next games.”

Now the big question is when that return will occur, if at all, as a concrete picture about ending the season still remains at large.
