Manchester United In Contact With Ajax To Sign Donny van de Beek
With the summer transfer window being delayed, the Premier League clubs are still looking for targets to pounce on once the window kicks in.
Accordingly, Manchester United have laid their eyes on a new figure, someone who’s already marked by Real Madrid.
As per De Telegraaf, the Mancunian club have intriguingly stepped up their interest in Ajax’s Donny van de Beek despite Real Madrid’s agreement over a €50 million deal for the attacking midfielder.
In spite of the previous talks however, the Spanish giants have failed to complete the star’s medical in addition to final confirmation.
Although it’s still unclear whether Los Blancos have backed off just yet, it’s widely speculated that the hit in the economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic could be the reason if they did put a cap to their interest in the 23-year-old.
It’s understood that Ajax are open to selling the midfielder to United if they receive a good offer.
With a growing desire to represent a European club, it’s understood that Ajax’s No.6 is reluctant to wait another year for an offer from Madrid.
Moreover, Man Utd chief Ed Woodward’s healthy relationship with Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar, who shares a history with the Red Devils, is expected to favour the transfer further.
