Man Utd’s pursuit for Jadon Sancho is all set to become the regular headline grabber of the upcoming transfer window. The Borussia Dortmund winger has certainly merited all the attention he has been getting as evidenced by his excellent form.

While questions about his pricetag will still remain at large, there is no doubt that he would be the perfect acquisition for the Red Devils from a tactical viewpoint.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company lack an adequate world-class option at right wing and that really hampers the penetrative potential of their attacking trident.

However, if Sancho is secured, it will be interesting to see what it will mean for the future of the other forwards at Old Trafford.

In that regard, Daniel James may have an interesting trajectory ahead. According to the Sun, Man Utd are contemplating giving James a new deal.

However, if the deal is secured, the Welshman will likely be loaned out to ensure that he won’t be warming the bench as Sancho will be a first-team regular.

James had an excellent start to life at United but was unable to put up a consistent showing upfront throughout the campaign.

However, his relatively small transfer fee ensured that not much criticism was hurled and the fact that he’s still a youngster making the transition from the Championship also made his case understandable.

The report adds that if James were to become available, several Premier League sides would be interested in making him a part of their outfit. This speaks a lot as to how much he has impressed in the short period of time, especially through his electric pace.

Of course, all this hinges on United securing Sancho. They will certainly try their best, but it will be intriguing to see just how long-drawn the saga becomes.
