Man United fans may be more eager than they have ever been to watch the Red Devils back in action.

The COVID-19 pandemic lockdown came in place at a time when United were having their dream run of games. New signing Bruno Fernandes had added a whole lot of caliber to the side who were looking confident of challenging Chelsea to a top-four finish and excelling in the Europa League.

As such, when Premier League football resumes for them on June 19 against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur, the pressure will be on to continue their form. This will be particularly hard for the rosters as all players have been bereft of on-pitch action for months on end, which doesn’t occur to that length even during mid-season breaks.

However, the silver lining for United is that Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will be back from injury and ready to resume their antics.

With regard to Rashford, in particular, fans have been ecstatic. The English forward featured during the side’s clash against West Bromwich Albion during the first of two friendlies held behind closed doors.

Clips from the game see Rashford at his usual excellence, nothing at all like a player who had last functioned in January and was out due to multiple back injuries.

In particular, the manner in which he bamboozled West Brom’s Dara O’Shea has had fans reeling with joy. The social media reaction to the clips said it all.

Alas, United didn’t win the game, with the Championship club securing a 2-1 victory. The second game with mostly different lineups saw United clinch victory in a 3-1 finish.

When football does resume, Rashford has a enviable 20-goal mark to reach and along with Pogba, Fernandes, and Martial, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season incharge of the side may have its ace end after all.
