Manchester United hosted Sheffield United on Wednesday as Anthony Martial single-handedly fired his side to victory.

The French international completed his first hattrick for United in a scintillating performance. Martial finished two of his chances in the first half as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford provided the assists.

The Englishman serviced yet another assist towards the latter stages of the second half to allow his teammate to score the third goal as the Red Devils picked up 3 points with the fixture concluding with the scoreline 3-0 in the favour of the hosts.

Rashford and the former Monaco star have built up quite a partnership with both of them having recorded 18 and 19 goals each respectively in all competitions this season. But having two prolific forwards in the squad has given birth to whispers regarding competition between the pair.

However, the United no. 9 denies any such narrative and insists the relationship with his colleague is very healthy.

“There’s no competition [between him and Rashford],” the striker said in a post-match interview.

“You see he gave me two assists today — I gave him the chance to score, so no competition. We just want to win.”
