Manchester United’s Tahith Chong could be on his way to the Bundesliga.

The Red Devils are in hot pursuit for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and the latest reports say they are in a fairly good place to pull off the transfer. This means that Chong – should the Englishman be signed – will be behind Marcus Rashford, Sancho, Mason Greenwood, and Daniel James for a spot on the flanks.

The Dutchman recorded 7 goals and 8 assists in 21 appearances over the course of last season, with 2 of those assists made in the Europa League and the vast majority of the stats coming with the second-team in the Premier League 2. Clearly, the youngster is of good potential and it is understandable why he’s in search of more minutes with the first team.

This is why he may depart on a season-long loan to Werder Bremen this summer, according to Weser-Kurier. The Germans are bracing themselves for the departure of Milot Rashica and the United academy product may be a potential replacement.

“He is very fast, a real flank player and his profile fits [our requirement]. We can add two or three more players [who fit the profile],” said Bremen chief Frank Baumann [via SportWitness].

It is very clear that the right-winger has been identified by the Bundesliga outfit as a potential candidate. And with COVID-19 having impacted their finances, Werder could do with a loan deal such as this.

“Borrowing players from top clubs like this can make sense to us. Because of our situation, he’s a player who could be interesting,” Baumann added

Further, according to Bild, the 20-year-old’s representatives Mohammed Sinouh and Roy Rajber were spotted in Bremen in a meeting which involved the Germans’ chief scout Clemens Fritz. It looks like their discussion may have been regarding a potential transfer.
