Man Utd’s acquisition of Donny van de Beek has got fans plenty excited and for good reason.
Although an official confirmation from the club is still pending, most reputed sources have already called the deal with Ajax receiving around £40 million for the player as talks were allegedly held and confirmed late on Sunday night.
A medical and other paperwork along with official unveiling is expected to follow in the coming days.
The late flurry of activity did catch many supporters by surprise, especially since the updates arriving on an hourly basis were kept away for months in the past few transfer sagas.
So much so that a familiar name was also waiting on the latest updates.
Marcus Rashford was seen liking Fabrizio Romano’s tweet announcing the first big update on the van de Beek saga, the one reporting that United were confident of securing a deal with their first bid itself.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the like and this perhaps keenly shows that the academy graduate is just as eager on the Red Devils doing business as the supporters are.
The club’s prior latest signing Bruno Fernandes was also seen following the activity on Instagram. The dynamic that the Portuguese star will share with the Dutchman is bound to be at the heart of the club’s midfield brilliance next campaign.
In fact, in the matter of two transfer windows, Solskjær has gone on to effectively bolster his options in the middle with Paul Pogba, Fernandes, and now van de Beek all excellent players and the likes of Scott McTominay, Fred, and Nemanja Matic waiting as highly capable back-up options.
The transfer window hasn’t been a smooth affair for Man Utd so far but supporters will certainly be hoping that with this deal, a precedent is set for future pieces of business.
