Deal Agreed: Andreas Pereira To Join Lazio On Loan With €27m Option To Buy
Manchester United will send Andreas Pereira on loan to Lazio.
It appears that a summer of frustrating attempts at getting players into the club will now be channelled to a different effort. The Red Devils appear to now focus on getting surplus talent away from the club and have been making several potential inquiries.
Chris Smalling and Andreas Pereira have been the key players discussed in this regard with a busy week of transfers expected ahead.
Now, one of them is slated for a loan move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have agreed to a loan move for Andreas Pereira. The 24-year-old will be sent out to Lazio with a total agreement reached on a season-long spell.
Romano adds that the Serie A outfit will have the option to purchase the midfielder on a permanent basis at the end of the loan spell for an alleged fee of €27 million.
Further, it is reported that the two clubs will be sharing the Brazilian’s wages. This is bound to be received with mixed views from United supporters. It is understood that medicals will take place this week.
Pereira certainly had a tumultuous time at Old Trafford, with a good chunk of his senior career spent on loan, with Spain offering some impressive development.
However, he was never able to fully carve out a place for himself within Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s starting lineup, and this ousting despite a congested fixture list may be more final than meets the eye. It will be interesting to see if the Premier League club have any plan of retaining the player’s services down the line.
For now, fans will be hoping for activity from the other end as well as a signing or two will be eager anticipated before the window comes to a close.
