Training with the Man Utd academy since the age of six, Angel Gomes had spent a major share of his lifetime with the Red Devils. Failing to make a breakthrough there, however, the star set out to France earlier this year.

In the summer, the 20-year-old agreed on a deal from Lille by signing a five-year long contract despite interest from the likes of Chelsea, from where he was loaned out to the Portuguese club Boavista for the whole campaign.

Now, the transfer decision by the respective officials at United has come back to haunt them as the starlet scored a wonderful goal from half-line in his previous match.

The Englishman was just giving it his all in his side’s clash against Moreirense last night. Accordingly, winning the ball from the middle of the park, the ex-United attacker observed that the keeper was way off his spot, thus blasting the ball from way out.

To his surprise nevertheless, the ball ended up inside the net, registering his first goal for the club which was welcomed well by his current supporters although it left a speck of regret amongst the Mancunian fans.

Furthermore, the Old Trafford faithful took to Twitter to react against the decision of Ole Gunnar Solskjær to let go of the player for free.

However, back when he was trying to make his way through to the first team, Gomes was able to squeeze out only 10 games across all competitions for the English side, after which his contract came to an end.

It’s still too early to come to a conclusion regarding the star’s efficacy. Nevertheless, most people believe the Englishman will go on to live up to his potential as he bagged praises from many.
