What Fans Are Saying About Harry Maguire After His Red Card For England
Harry Maguire’s past performances for England and Manchester United seem to be the only determinant behind the patience of Gareth Southgate and Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the defender continues a series of poor performance with the last one being a 1-0 defeat against Denmark.
Whilst his guilty verdict and the resultant 21-month prison sentence could be posing as a factor behind the star’s weak form on the pitch, the series of substandard performances have attracted some distressed reactions from various parts of the world.
Moreover, the alleged repeated attempts of bribery after an incident in Mykonos, Greece in August could be another agent which is binding the England international down, but one can never come up with sufficient grounds to justify the United man’s flaws last night.
The 27-year-old listed his name on the yellow card in the first five minutes of the Nations League match at Wembley, after which he got in the second one in the 31st minute by surging in on Kasper Dolberg.
Owing to the shift in form from poor to worse, the Mancunian faithful have flooded Twitter with reactions asserting that Maguire should be dropped out of the squad in their upcoming game against Newcastle
While some supporters used words like ‘atrocious’ to describe the skipper, Jamie Redknapp prompted the fans to cut the talented defender some slack as he’s advancing through a disturbing time both on and off the pitch.
🗣”You don’t know how somebody feels when they go on the field, people ripping him apart on social media, but you don’t know how somebody feels, he will come back and get through this”

Maguire needs a holiday (anywhere but Mykonos and we’re fine). There’s been a lot of exaggeration about how bad he’s been at times this year but he genuinely doesn’t seem up to it lately. Feel for the bloke

Maguire’s mental state has to be a concern, he’s had a horrendous summer, a dreadful start to the season and now just been sent off. It beggars belief Utd didn’t sign a center back this summer, I’d seriously consider leaving him out v Newcastle

Dilemma for #mufc re. Maguire is Lindelof-Bailly hasn’t worked, Tuanzebe is only just fit again and Mengi’s raw. But Maguire is a danger to his own side. Five of next six games are vs Champions League finalists, semi-finalists, two ‘big six’ sides and current league leaders.

Harry Maguire’s performance genuinely one of the worst I’ve seen in an England shirt. Scarily bad. Excellent for Leicester, adequate for Man Utd last season, beyond awful so far this season. Looks totally frazzled by whatever happened in Mikonos. Needs a break.

Given all the games they have coming up, I don’t see how Man Utd can give Harry Maguire a break but must be a question over whether he starts at Newcastle on Saturday. Solskjaer needs to start winning games.

It hasn’t been one of the best starts to the season for Manchester United as well, as they stand on 16th position in the table, winning just one while losing two of the three matches they played.
Therefore, the club manager is expected to twist up things a bit before the upcoming match, and may start off by dropping the club captain from the starting XI.
