Facundo Pellistri may be knocking at the senior team’s door soon.

During the transfer window, Manchester United supporters were desperately waiting for a right-forward to be signed by the club. Jadon Sancho was the main name on the wishlist but that entire saga has left a sour taste for many.

As such, when on deadline day rapid activity was being made, a different youngster was signed.

Now, supporters have had their first look at the teenager and they do seem to like what they see.

Facundo Pellistri’s highlight reel from a U-23 game has gone viral. Fans are clearly hungry to see more of the Uruguayan international and this game certainly gave them ample content.

The 18-year-old forward was an unused substitute during the Red Devils’ emphatic win over PSG in the Champions League.

However, his immediate senior team future is in some doubt. Then again, looking at the fact that the other teenage signings that United made in the window are much younger, there is a vibe that Pellistri is being developed for a more immediate role.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær could certainly do with someone of his calibre. As the fans who were clamouring for his senior team ascent kept stating, the starlet is a natural right-forward.

Further, given that the Norwegian gaffer has had to rely too much on the likes of Juan Mata and Daniel James as of recent, a bit of variety is the need of the hour.

What United certainly have with the addition of Pellistri is an assortment of options to choose from. Mason Greenwood’s exceptional numbers from last campaign stemmed largely from how well he did during cameo appearances.

Likewise, Pellistri too could look to emulate the same and if his passes and running are as consistent as this reel shows, the Premier League is in for a treat.
