Manchester United achieved an incredible feat on Tuesday as they secured a 1-0 win over Burnley. Paul Pogba’s sole goal of the game sent the Red Devils to the top of the Premier League table, three points ahead of second-placed Liverpool.

This is the first time that Manchester United have seen the top of the table in a non-first game week scenario since 2017 and the first time that they have been perched up here after these many games since Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign ended.

Needless to say, it was a momentous occasions and the reactions of the players say it all.

The likes of David De Gea, Bruno Fernandes, and Paul Pogba, whose individual performances was key for the side to reach this spot, said it all.

The high was also felt by former Red Devils, both the illustrious ones, as well as those who left early, as illustrated by the reactions of Dimitar Berbatov and Angel Gomes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær now has a massive task ahead of him in the form of Liverpool. While their nearly unassailable Anfield record will be challenged by United’s exceptional away run of games, that top point swagger will be the crucial matchup to keep an eye on.

Sir Alex Ferguson had famous words about Liverpool and their perch on top of the league and now these fresh Red Devils could start scripting the dream that could see they ace that fields that they stomped with glory in the years of the past.
