Bruno Fernandes has taken Man United to the next level. Before his arrival, the Red Devils found themselves 30 points behind Liverpool following a 2-0 defeat at Anfield in January 2020, and now with the Portuguese in their roster they sit atop the Premier League table after sharing a point in the same fixture.

The former Sporting Lisbon captain has not only improved United’s position on the league table, but has also had a positive influence on his teammates and players of other Premier League teams as well.

Like the Portuguese, Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe has also triggered a potential change of fortune for Mikel Arteta’s men. The North London giants have won four of their last five league games since the 20-year-old’s inclusion in the team.

The Englishman registered his third Premier League assist of the campaign in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Newcastle.

In his post-match interview, he hailed Fernandes after he was informed that the United midfielder is the only player to have created more chances than him since the Chelsea encounter – his first league appearance of the season.

In the absence of Mesut Ozil, who has moved to Fenerbahce after a disappointing end to his Arsenal career, the emergence of talents like Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka has kept the Gunners in contention for European places.

The Gooners will hope the academy graduates nail down their place at Arsenal for years to come and inspire the next generation of talents coming through Hale End.
