Manchester United were able to excel in their Europa League tryst of this campaign. The Red Devils aced away in Turin as Real Sociedad were held to a 0-4 first-leg disappointment.

Bruno Fernandes was the name on each lip once again as the Portuguese midfielder netted two goals. Marcus Rashford added to that effort later on in the game while Daniel James’ 90th minute effort ensured that Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side don’t really have to do much in the Old Trafford leg of affairs next week.

While fans will be pleased with the result, the game also saw another source of delight for them.

Amad Diallo, purchased in the summer and let in at the cusp of the winter transfer window, was finally awarded his senior debut. The 18-year-old managed just 8 minutes of gametime on the pitch, coming on as a substitute. However, those minutes were enough for fans to be excited by him.

Several took to Twitter to let their delight in the player’s performance be known.

The Ivorian teenager certainly put in a lot of effort and gave plenty of things to be talked about. In particular, his skill on the flank was hailed. While conservative in his limited passing, the footwork he displayed to frustrate the opposition was a visual treat.

Further still, his pace was all that it was hyped to be and now fans seem eager to hope for more of the same from him in more games.

In fact, with a comfortable away lead and relatively less importance being attached to Europa League games, it is entirely conceivable that Solskjær may look to give Diallo more gametime in this competition, perhaps even a start or two.
