Ashley Young Could Return To His Former Club After Serie A Title
Ashley Young is eyeing the Serie A title and a return to his former club Watford in the next few months.
The Englishman swapped Man Utd for Inter in January 2020, following the footsteps of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. He’s now approaching the end of his contract at the San Siro, and has already begun planning for the future.
As per the Mirror, Young dreams of returning to his boyhood club Watford. He’s even willing to take a step down to the Championship in order to reunite with a club where he made his first team debut in 2003 after progressing through the academy.
Young is, however, determined to win the Scudetto under Antonio Conte before returning to English football. The 35-year-old didn’t feature in his side’s 2-1 win over Parma, but has been a very useful player for Conte due to his versatility.
Alongside Young, former United attacking duo Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have also been key figures behind Inter’s title charge.
Sanchez scored a brace on Thursday as the Nerazzurri opened up a six-point gap to second place Milan.
Lukaku, meanwhile, has brilliantly led the Inter’s frontline since his arrival. With 26 goals contributions, including two assist against Parma, the Belgian has been the most productive player in Serie A this season.
