What Happened Between Bruno Fernandes And Lingard Before West Ham Match
Manchester United were able to have a relatively quiet 1-0 win to regain their second place on the Premier League table when they defeated West Ham United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils were able to keep David Moyes men at bay quite well, denying them any attempts on their target. In fact, while the home forward line tried repeatedly to break the persistent deadlock, it took a Craig Dawson folly in the 53rd minute for the own-goal to go the way of Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men.
As such, it comes as no surprise that one of the more lighter talking points of the game came from before the kick-off.
Fans of Manchester United will have certainly been keeping a good watch on West Ham. In addition to being helmed by Moyes, a familiar face, the Hammers also had Jesse Lingard on their roster. The former Red Devil has certainly had a fun time during his loan spell with the side.
As such, the trip to Manchester did see him in attendance, although not in the playing squad due to the terms of his loan spell.
Nevertheless, Lingard lingered near the tunnel during the warm-up to the game and a clip has surfaced showing just how warmly his former teammates greeted him at the time.
In particular, fans are pleased with how Bruno Fernandes received the 28-year-old, who has been associated with the side since his academy days itself.
Supporters took the gesture to shower further praise upon the Portuguese midfielder, heralding his leadership skills and warmth.
As for Lingard, such a nostalgic trip may just become the norm for him as despite the good form, an Old Trafford return may be harder than meets the eye.
Having said that, stranger homecomings have occurred in the Premier League.
