Manchester United travelled to the British capital this weekend to face Tottenham Hotspur and managed to return having made a valiant comeback.

After Edinson Cavani’s goal was controversially disallowed by VAR, Son Heung-min opened the scoring as things seemed to shift in favour of Spurs. But that notion did not last long as United made sure to make up for their disallowed goal.

Fred managed to equalise in the second half and Cavani followed suit not long after. Mason Greenwood’s injury-time goal was just just a cherry on top to cap off an awful day for Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese succumbed to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer yet again as his failures returned to haunt him. Fred, Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw – all who declined under Mourinho – displayed incredible performances.

Shaw’s Resurgence Under Solskjaer Is The Manager’s Best Success Story So Far

This is salt in the wound for the former Chelsea boss as these are players he constantly accused of not being good enough. Pogba was vilified in the eyes of the fans and Shaw’s confidence was left in tatters as his shortcomings were criticised publicly by the manager.

However, their rejuvenation under the Norwegian manager has hurt Mourinho and his side tonight. Which is exactly why United fans are loving these visuals of the left-back celebrating with the gaffer right in front of his former boss.

The Englishman has turned into the player fans had always hoped he would be this season and the fact that this ultimately contributed to the downfall of a manager who contributed to his decline is almost poetic. It is no surprise that fans are very amused by the situation.

Although opinions are still split on Solskjaer amongst the fanbase, it is quite apparent that everybody is glad their club has moved on from their previous boss.
