Jadon Sancho will become one of the highest paid players at Manchester United once his move goes through.
The Englishman is closing in on a return to Manchester, with multiple reports – both in Germany and England – indicating United and Borussia Dortmund are nearing an agreement.
Once the hurdle of a transfer fee is overcome, Sancho will become a Red Devil, with personal terms already in place with his representatives.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old will earn about £350,000-a-week on a five-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams. If the figures mentioned by Romano are to be believed, Sancho will be amongst the highest earners at the club.
The Dortmund star’s stats in the Bundesliga in the last two seasons warrant an eye-watering contract. However, such a deal could also disrupt the wage structure at Old Trafford. There is past precedent for such high bills causing friction so that is a potential worry in the making for Ole Gunnar Solskjær
Additionally, if United meet Dortmund’s asking price, the Man City academy graduate will become the most expensive English player of all time.
As such, apart from the obvious pressure on Sancho, if United secure the signing over the next few days, and England continue to progress in the Euros, pressure on Gareth Southgate to start the country’s most expensive player will also increase.
