Raphael Varane is looking for a new experience after spending almost a decade at Real Madrid.

The Real Madrid centre-back, having won everything there is to win in Spanish top-flight football, now wants to leave the club. As per the Independent, he believes now is the time for a change of scenery in his career.

With his current contract expiring next year, Los Blancos, might be forced to grant his wish and sell him in the upcoming months or else they risk losing another star centre-back – similar to Sergio Ramos –  for nothing.

Now, the tricky situation at Santiago Bernabeu has opened the door for Man Utd, Varane’s long-term admirers, to make another ambitious attempt to sign the former RC Lens defender. It is understood that the Frenchman is the English outfit’s top defensive target.

Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be interested in bringing him back to France, but the 28-year-old’s desire to ply his trade in the Premier League has given a further advantage to the Red Devils.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who finished second in the league table last season, provides an ideal challenge to the World Cup winner to test his mettle in a new country.

In case, Varane decides to extend his stay at Madrid or move elsewhere, Man Utd will try to tempt Pau Torres instead from La Liga.
