Man Utd might have to sell Paul Pogba this summer amid growing interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is reported to be already in discussions with the French giants over midfielder’s personal terms. As per the Daily Mail, PSG believe they can sign the former Juventus man for ‘less than half the £89m’ United spent to bring him back to Old Trafford in 2016.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need a replacement in the event the France international departs. In this regard, it is interesting to note that Ruben Neves has been mentioned as United’s target in the midfield as per a claim.
Journalist Dean Jones (via The Football Terrace) suggests the Red Devils’ interest in the Portugal international in ‘genuine’. Bruno Fernandes is also ‘very keen’ for his fellow countryman to join him, with the club already aware of Fernandes’ desire.
Both midfielders were part of Portugal’s squad for the recently concluded European Championship.
The 24-year-old could prove to be a shrewd midfield purchase. Premier League proven, Neves’ versatility means he’d able to play alongside Pogba in a deeper role, and also replace him in the midfield pivot if Raiola manages to move his client to PSG.
It has to be said that his last campaign with Wolves was a bit underwhelming, but he’s arguably better on the ball than both Fred and Scott McTominay, and would thrive in a side which dominates possession.
