Borussia Dortmund In Talks To Sign Manchester United Youngster
Borussia Dortmund are in negotiations to sign Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot.
The Germans are pushing to bring the Portuguese youngster to the Bundesliga before the transfer window closes. As per Sky Sports, Dortmund prefer to conclude a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.
Dalot has always been on the fringes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but was expected to stay and challenge Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back after impressing during his loan spell with AC Milan last season.
Earlier this summer, United also rebuffed the Serie A side’s proposal for the 22-year-old and included him in their pre-season plans. Further, following the departure of versatile full-back Brandon Williams to Norwich City, Dalot’s stay in Manchester seemed certain.
However, Dortmund’s late attempt could open the Old Trafford exit doors for the former FC Porto man once again.
If the Premier League giants sanction Dalot’s transfer, Kieran Trippier could get back on their radar as they will be left with no viable backup to Wan-Bissaka.
The Englishman has been of Solskjaer’s interest all summer, but United never showed any desperation after being put off by Atletico Madrid’s asking price. But the developments in the next few days could force them to return to the Spanish capital for another defender this summer.
