Man United Want To Sign French Right-Back After Losing Patience With Wan-Bissaka
Man United are reportedly starting to run out of patience with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and already have a replacement in mind.
The full-back has had a disappointing start to the campaign and is yet to put up a convincing performance so far this season. Wan-Bissaka has consequently been under harsh criticism of late, especially following his nightmare of a performance against Young Boys. The Englishman got sent off around the half-hour mark in Switzerland where his side eventually lost the tie 2-1.
Although Wan-Bissaka has consistently struggled to contribute much when United go on the offense, he had always been solid defensively. But recently, mediocrity has got haunted him on both ends.
Even if he regains his form, the fact that modern football calls for full-backs to contribute to the attack means that it would not be wise to invest too much time and resource into him.
Moreover, the club is said to be unconvinced by Diogo Dalot as well.
Which is probably why the Red Devils are exploring the option of signing a new right-back. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the higher-ups at Old Trafford have identified Nordi Mukiele as their target.
United are reportedly not fixated on a homegrown player anymore after being put off by the price tags of English players.
Meanwhile, the Frenchman has made over 100 appearances for RB Leipzig and is considered one of the best players in his positions in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old is also comfortable playing on the right side of the midfield or down the wing, giving him an edge over the United man.
The former Crystal Palace talent might be better when it comes to one-on-one defensive situations, but Mukiele not only offers much more to the attack but also boasts Champions League pedigree.
