Ralf Rangnick is pushing for Erling Haaland’s transfer to Manchester United.

Mino Raiola appeared to suggest the Red Devils aren’t in the running to sign Haaland last week, naming four teams – Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City – as the ‘big clubs’ his client can move to.

However, he quickly clarified the clubs he named were just an example to describe the type of side the Norwegian could join. He further added that he could remain at Borussia Dortmund for another season as well.

Regardless, despite intense competition for Haaland’s signature, Rangnick is pushing for United to sign the Dortmund talisman, reports M.E.N.

The Premier League giants will be able to secure the transfer for €75m, as his release clause becomes active in 2022.

The German oversaw Haaland’s switch to RB Salzburg from Molde in 2018, and has recently spoken to the striker’s father, Alf-Inge, about possibility of the 21-year-old moving to United next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Haaland’s former manager in Norway, was very interested in reuniting with the striker at Old Trafford. However, the English outfit believe his sacking won’t hamper their chances of signing Haaland.

With Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial both looking increasingly likely to depart within the next six months, United will do well to meet the demand of Rangnick, despite his interim spell, and bring in Haaland to bolster their frontline.
